Lite Up the Village: November 30-December 31, 2024
After Thanksgiving each year, Shepard Park in Lake George Village is lit by thousands of lights to celebrate the holiday season. This free event kicks off at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 30, 2024 with carriage rides, bounce houses, live music, and a Crazy Ugly Sweater Contest, followed by the official illumination of the lights, a spectacular fireworks display and a Holiday Light Parade on Canada Street. After the event, the Lake George Holiday Festival of Lights remain lit every night through December 31.
North Country Festival of Trees: November 29-December 1, 2024
Every year, The Queensbury Hotel in downtown Glens Falls hosts the North Country Festival of Trees, featuring beautifully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, kissing balls, centerpieces, gingerbread houses, and a variety of unique handmade items created by local artisans for gift giving or decorating your home. This family-friendly weekend includes holiday shopping, Breakfast with Santa, children’s activities and line dancing, as well as live entertainment all weekend long. View event details.
Breakfast with Santa: November 30, December 14, December 21, 2024
Treat the little ones to a magical morning filled with joy and wonder at the Fort William Henry on three Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Families enjoy a festive breakfast from 7:00 am until 11:00 am and a visit from Santa at 8:00 am, following by cookie decorating. A fun, heartwarming experience for children of all ages. Tickets are $25 for adults, $18 for children 5-10 years old and $5 for children under 5. Reserve your spot.
Adirondack Holiday Festival: December 6-8, 2024
This festive weekend celebration in downtown Glens Falls kicks off on Friday with a holiday parade, the lighting of the community tree, live music and visits from Santa Claus in City Park from 5:00-8:00 pm. Throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, explore a variety of vendors and shops offering Adirondack-themed goods, perfect for unique holiday gifts. This event is free and fun for all ages. Together at Christmas – Holiday Princess Show: December 7, 2024
Join the “Snow Sisters”, Rapunzel and the Little Mermaid for a live, holiday-themed, interactive performance at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake George. Enjoy sing-alongs, dancing, games and stories, as well as autographs, photo ops and VIP add-ons. Performances are scheduled for 2:30 pm and 4:30 pm with VIP admission 30 minutes prior. The Nutcracker Ballet: December 14-15, 2024
Watch as the magic of the holidays comes alive with the Adirondack Ballet Theater’s annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s timeless holiday classic, “The Nutcracker”. This year’s performances will be held at the Charles R. Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls on Saturday, December 14 at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and Sunday, December 15 at 1:00pm. Tickets cost just $18.50, but you’ll want to secure your seats before they sell out. Buy tickets online.
New Year’s Polar Plunge: January 1, 2025
Kick off the new year with a dip in the icy waters of Lake George at the annual Lake George Polar Plunge. Held at Shepard Park Beach on Canada Street in Lake George Village, this New Year’s tradition draws more than 1,000 participants and spectators each year. Plungers begin entering the water in groups of 400 starting around 1:00 pm. Pack your bathing suit and a warm towel for an invigorating start to the new year, or bundle up and enjoy the show.
