Each year as fall transitions to winter, the southern Adirondacks begin to bustle with a bit of holiday magic, including a variety of family-friendly festivities and events that are sure to rekindle your love of winter and fill your cups with Christmas cheer.

Lite Up the Village

Saturday, November 29, 2025

After Thanksgiving each year, Shepard Park in Lake George Village is lit by thousands of lights to celebrate the holiday season. This free event kicks off at 3:00 pm on Saturday, November 29, 2025 with a block party, free carriage rides, bounce houses, live music, and a Crazy Ugly Sweater Contest, followed by the official illumination of the lights, a spectacular fireworks display, a Holiday Light Parade on Canada Street, and a meet and greet with Santa and friends at the Lake George Fire House. After the event, the Lake George Holiday Festival of Lights remain lit every night through December 31.

North Country Festival of Trees

Every year, The Queensbury Hotel in downtown Glens Falls hosts the North Country Festival of Trees, featuring beautifully decorated Christmas trees, wreaths, kissing balls, centerpieces, gingerbread houses, and a variety of unique handmade items created by local artisans for gift giving or decorating your home. This family-friendly weekend includes holiday shopping, Breakfast with Santa on Saturday and Sunday from 8:30 am to 10:30 am, children’s activities and line dancing, as well as live entertainment. All proceeds from the event benefit Prospect Center, an affiliate of the Center for Disability Services. View event details.

Breakfast with Santa

Treat the little ones to a magical morning filled with joy and wonder at the Lakeside Resturant & Lounge inside the Fort William Henry Hotel on three Saturdays between Thanksgiving and Christmas. Families enjoy a festive breakfast and a visit from Santa, followed by cookie decorating. A fun, heartwarming experience for children of all ages. Reservations must be made in advance and seating times are every 15 minutes from 7:00 am until 9:30 am. Santa arrives at 8:00 am. Tickets are $30 for adults, $22 for children 5-10 years old and $5 for children under 4. Carriage rides around the Village will also be available for $5 per person. Make a reservation.

Adirondack Holiday Festival

December 5-7, 2025

This festive weekend celebration in downtown Glens Falls kicks off on Friday with a holiday parade, the lighting of the community tree, live music and visits from Santa in City Park from 5:00-8:00 pm. Throughout Friday, Saturday, and Sunday, explore a variety of vendors and shops offering Adirondack-themed goods, perfect for unique holiday gifts. This event is free and fun for all ages. Together at Christmas: A Holiday Princess Show

December 6, 2025

Join the “Snow Sisters”, along with Snow White and Sleeping Beauty for a live, holiday-themed, interactive performance at the Holiday Inn Resort Lake George. Enjoy sing-alongs, dancing, games and stories, as well as autographs, photo ops and VIP add-ons. Performances are scheduled for 2:30 pm and 4:15 pm with VIP admission 30 minutes prior. Tickets must be purchased in advance and are available online. General admission is $25 and the VIP experience is an additional $20. View event details.

The Nutcracker Ballet

December 13-14, 2025

Watch as the magic of the holidays comes alive with the Adirondack Ballet Theater’s annual performance of Tchaikovsky’s timeless holiday classic, “The Nutcracker”. This year’s performances will be held at the Charles R. Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls on Saturday, December 13 at 1:00 pm and 6:00 pm, and Sunday, December 14 at 1:00pm. Suite Moves: The Nutcracker Reimagined

Presented by The Body Barre dance studio, this holiday performance is a family fun spin-off of the classic Nutcracker Ballet, reloaded with tap, jazz, lyrical, acrobatics, hip hop and musical theater. There will be two performances at 2:00 pm and 5:00 pm on Saturday, December 21, 2025 at the Charles R. Wood Theater in downtown Glens Falls. New Year’s Eve Dueling Pianos

December 31, 2025 8:00 pm – Midnight

Ring in the New Year with an evening of singing and dancing at The Carriage House at the Fort William Henry Hotel. This high-energy, request-driven rock & roll singlaong will feature the Savage Pianos, a world-class dueling piano duo.
